: Qualitative case study with pre/post observations and semi-structured interviews. Participants : 48 children (ages 8–9) from two classes in a UK primary school; 2 class teachers. Procedure : Each class received a drama box (hats, cloth, animal masks, toy phone, picture cards, blank cardboard masks). For 20 minutes daily, children engaged in unstructured group play with the box. Researchers filmed one session per week and coded for: (a) number of role changes, (b) verbal negotiation turns, (c) extended narratives (≥3 connected utterances). Ethical considerations : Parental consent, anonymity, right to withdraw.
