The film follows Khoka (Sourav Das) , a timid, impoverished man living in the shadow of the menacing local strongman, Bhotbhoti (Saswata Chatterjee) . Desperate to escape his miserable existence and win the hand of a sex worker (Isha Saha), Khoka takes a devastating loan. When he fails to pay it back, Bhotbhoti offers a cruel path to redemption: Khoka must serve as his "night chowkidar" (watchman) to burn the body of a murder victim.
