The T-X is programmed to kill John and his future officers, while a reprogrammed T-850 Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is sent back in time to protect John. Along the way, John and the T-850 form an unlikely alliance with Kate Brewster (Claire Danes), John's future ally and love interest.
The future sends back a new Terminator: the T-X (Kristanna Loken), a sleek, female-appearing infiltration unit with built-in plasma weaponry and the ability to control other machines. To protect John, the Resistance sends back a reprogrammed T-850 (Arnold Schwarzenegger), an older, battle-scarred model who is less philosophical but more brutally efficient than his T-800 predecessor.
